Thank you to the many many people who have contacted me asking for help and advice. It is always great to hear from you and compare war stories.

Many of you have asked me how to get hold of Olmesartan (Olmetec/Benicar/Votum) which is not available in New Zealand. If you have a valid prescription, you can import it privately through a pharmacy in Tauranga. You can contact them by e-mail at service@wholesalechemist.com (ask for Nicole McArthur), or you can contact them by phone on: 07-571 2046, or by fax on: 07-571 2013.

Postal Address:
94 2nd Ave
PO Box 1011
Tauranga
New Zealand

You can also check out their website: http://www.wholesalechemist.com

This medicine is horrendously expensive and will cost around NZ$ 1,100 for three months supply.

Update!! - Donald & Betty of Melbourne, Australia, have very kindly written to me from Australia informing me of a cheaper source of Olmesartan:

Munich Pharmacy

Australian $550.80,  for 3 x boxes of 98 tabs (3 months supply) of VOTUM (Olmesartan)

(cost in EURO's is 88.80 per box of 98)

From pharmacist, Ruth Bruer, of

inter-apotheke munchen      info@inter-apotheke.de

This Aus $ amount of $550,80 included the Priority Post and Bank Charges.

Many of you have asked me if my Physician friend or my GP are willing to see you if you live outside the Waikato area. I have asked them both and the answer, I'm afraid is no. They must be able to monitor your progress once they prescribe the medication. They are, however, willing to talk to any sceptical GP, or Specialist Physician who may wish to get more detailed information about my case. E-mail me at guss@bugeikan.com if you want their contact details.

Cheers

Guss
