As you probably read, I was feeling really good at the time that I wrote my last update.

Very shortly after that, Trevor suggested that I try a new combination of antibiotics, advising me that the new combination would kill bugs that I had thought were long since forgotten.

I got onto it straight away and yes, welcome back herx!!

It didn’t come on straight away, but slowly increased in intensity over a period of a couple of weeks.

• Intolerance to exercise again – causing that nice old productive coughing
• Strange transient aches and pains
• Intermittent ‘flu symptoms
• General fatigue

Yet another perceived step backwards, but in reality – a step forwards as I am exposing previously inaccessible bugs.

Since its max intensity about two weeks after starting the revised protocol, the symptoms have been very slowly dissipating.

The herx is still there, but it is a lot more bearable now.

I also summoned up the courage to try the new German source of Olmesartan, Votum, from the Internet pharmacy (details on the front page of this sarc section) and not only were they cheaper – they were also a lot faster. The meds arrived 5-days later – very impressive.

My plan now is to assess how I feel in three months time. If I am back to where I was, I plan to quit the protocol and go over to a yearly maintenance dose.
